(Reported by Yixin Hou) To solidly advance the school's internationalization efforts and continuously enhance its international profile and disciplinary influence, the School of Materials Science and Engineering convened a special workshop on internationalization on the morning of June 9. The meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Hongyang Zhao. Jiangyu Wu, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center and Vice Dean of the International College, attended and provided guidance. Huan Deng, Secretary of the School's Party Committee, was present and made work arrangements.

The meeting focused on key areas including international scientific research collaboration, international science and technology cooperation platforms, international conferences, foreign experts, and the cultivation of internationally oriented talent. It comprehensively reviewed the school's internationalization achievements in recent years and objectively analyzed the current strengths and weaknesses in terms of the number of international cooperation projects and faculty-student participation in international activities. Faculty members were encouraged to align their personal development with the school's disciplinary growth and to actively engage in various internationalization initiatives, so as to shore up weak points and highlight the distinctive features of the discipline. Hongyang Zhao provided a detailed explanation of the priorities and key considerations in internationalization work, offering clear guidance for faculty members to target the right programs and efficiently prepare application materials. His remarks drew keen attention and strong interest from those present, sparking a vibrant discussion among the participants.

Jiangyu Wu stated that the school should leverage key project applications as a driving force, using them to spearhead broader progress and steadily advance the school's internationalization, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of the university's overall international efforts. He addressed one by one the questions raised by faculty members on application difficulties, procedural uncertainties, and resource matching, providing professional and precise guidance for the school's subsequent work.
Huan Deng expressed his gratitude for the thoughtful guidance from the International Exchange and Cooperation Center and set forth work requirements for the school's faculty. He stressed that internationalization is the necessary path for the school's high-quality development, and all faculty members must give it high priority, pool their efforts, and work in synergy to foster a positive working atmosphere of proactive application and determined problem-solving. By delivering high-quality internationalization outcomes, the school will empower discipline development, talent cultivation, and scientific research innovation, contributing the strength of the School of Materials Science and Engineering to the university's internationalization endeavors.
